My
Mission Statement
Eurika! Bear
Pop-Gun

Roman Cohort Ala 2nd Astarium
My name is Benjamin Pecson and I have
been collecting and painting military miniatures since the
late 60's.
In the interim, I have learned to improve my techniques as
well as use several mediums, as I have discovered that no
one medium is premier overall, but they all have unique as
well as practical qualities when used together which
produce an effect that is visually rewarding.

6
mm Samuri Foot En Masse
I paint (and game) in scales from 2mmm up
to 54 mm. I am, to explain it best, a painter among
painters.
In other words, I acknowledge that there are others better
at my craft than I but I shall leave it up to you to decide
if I meet your requirements in fulfilling your purposes.

Hence This Is My
Mission Statement for Your Perusal
1. As a war gaming afecianado, I engage in the fantasy that
others of a like leaning possess a desire to be an alter
ego on the field either as an ordinary foot soldier or a
great general leading his troops to desperate victory or
glorious defeat.

Vlad
Tepes
When
I paint, I visualize masses of determined men clashing
swords on their shields or raising their weapons in
defiance of the foe.
I want my patrons to experience mentally the picture that
they are on the field itself whether leading from atop a
horse or the turret of a tank, with a hot wind passing
overhead as they direct their forces according to plan.

Romano-British Foot and
Horse
I want that soldier to look alive and you, as commander,
impart some of your own spirit into what was before a
simple casting in lead.

2. I know that in these times of bad
economy that the coin you spend is one that you do not part
with foolishly; you want to be sure of getting good value
for your buck.

Chieftan
I also would like to think that I can get top dollar for my
work, but we both may have different interpretations for
"top dollar". I do not believe in overcharging to the point
where a patron will only be a one-time customer.
I would rather have repeat customers who return as friends
and better yet, as satisfied customers.
I will not, in fact I
refuse to give you a substandard product.
I could not live with myself
knowing that I have in my own eyes cheated my patrons.

Roman Noble
Cavalry
Hence my motto: "You Never Get Less
Than My Absolute Best."
I give you my personal word.
3. Turn-around time: Being retired, I now have a
substantial amount of time to devote to my avocation.
Depending on the amount of figures you send me, I usually
can turn your commission back over to you in a reasonable
amount of time (allowing for conventions and family
matters). And
obviously, if you send me a huge amount of figures, I will
return as soon as a batch is done or we have a pre-arranged
time of delivery.

There is virtually nothing that can't be worked out within
reason.

Sharke's Rifles
4. If there are repairs or anything else that needs to be
touched up - I will do that for free of charge or (if
extensive) for a reasonable rate which we both agree upon.
I guarantee my work. It is a point of pride for me. I have
won awards from the 70's, 80's, and 90's, and though I know
the saying is that you are only as good as your last
award... as I have said above, I am a painter on par with
many of my peers and gamers.

Painting Miniatures
Your figures are painted with waterbased paints and then
varnished with a gloss undercoat to give them a protective
veneer. Then they receive an additional matte coat,
enhancing the overall effect and preventing color fade.
Cleaning each figure has already been calculated into the overall cost.
Regarding multiple figures: First I calculate a base price. Then we discuss how much of a discount you'll receive off of this initial baseline price.
This way, both of us are in agreement as to the scope of work and the cost of the project prior to me beginning my work.

And That's How It Goes.
Again, I personally guarantee
that you will receive a figure painted to the best of my
ability - and in a
timely fashion.
No waiting months and months for my work!

Ben Pecson
